FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is The Local Dose?
A family planning platform for Australian families. It finds family-friendly places and events near you, then builds a day around your kids' ages, your budget, the weather and how far you'll travel.
Do I need to download an app?
No. The Local Dose runs in your browser and can be added to your home screen in a couple of taps, so it feels like an app without the app store.
Does it cost anything?
No. Creating an account and planning family days is free.
Why do I need an account?
Recommendations are personalised. Your child ages, suburb, budget and saved places live in your account so you don't answer the same questions twice.
Which areas do you cover?
We're launching in the Illawarra with deep local coverage, and expanding to more Australian regions from there.
Where does your information come from?
A mix of local research, business-maintained profiles and parent feedback. Businesses can claim their profile and keep their own details accurate.
Can I add my business?
Yes. Claiming a profile is free, and you can list your opening hours, photos, family features, accessibility and facilities.
How do you handle my family's information?
It's used to personalise your recommendations, nothing else. See our privacy page for the detail.
