These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Local Dose ("we", "us", "our"), a mobile-first app that helps Australian families discover activities, events, beaches, playgrounds and local businesses. By creating an account, tapping "Get started", or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state or territory) to create an account. The app is designed for parents, carers and guardians planning activities for their family. Content aimed at children (such as For the Grom's) is intended to be used with adult supervision.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide during onboarding, including your suburb, children's ages and preferences. Keep your login credentials secure, you are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
We curate listings for beaches, playgrounds, cafés, restaurants, experiences, events and community meetups. While we take care to keep information accurate and up to date, opening hours, prices, conditions and availability change, always confirm important details (such as beach safety, business hours or event bookings) with the operator before you travel. The Local Dose is an information and discovery service, not the operator of the places listed.
Beach reports, tide and weather information, walking routes and similar content are provided as a guide only. Conditions in the ocean and the outdoors can change quickly. You are responsible for your family's safety, swim between the flags, follow local signs and lifeguard advice, and use your own judgement. We are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from activities you choose to undertake.
You may post reviews, tips, meetups, group posts and other content. You retain ownership of what you post, but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it within the app. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, misleading, harassing, discriminatory, unsafe for children, or that infringes anyone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these Terms.
Business owners can claim a listing to manage their profile, events, offers and responses to reviews. You warrant that you are authorised to act for the business you claim, and that information you publish is accurate and not misleading. Promoted or premium placements will be clearly labelled.
Some listings link to third-party websites for bookings, ticketing or offers. Those transactions are between you and the third party and are subject to their terms. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, third-party services.
The app, its design, branding, code, imagery and curated content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by Australian and international law. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial family use. You may not copy, scrape, resell or build a competing product from our content.
We are constantly improving the app and may add, change or remove features. We may also suspend the service for maintenance. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes to these Terms; your continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to those rights, the app is provided "as is" and, to the extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding fees paid in the previous 12 months.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
