About

Spanning 665 metres along the picturesque Illawarra coastline, the Sea Cliff Bridge gives families a scenic setting to stretch their legs and take in sweeping marine vistas. Originally opened in December 2005 as a landmark feature of the 140-kilometre Grand Pacific Drive, this elevated road and footpath curves above the water, offering open views across the ocean. During migration season, it serves as an excellent vantage point for watching whales travel along the coastline. The walk across the bridge provides a calm way to experience the Wollongong region from above the sea. Access is available via public transport, with Coalcliff train station running daily services about a 15-minute walk from the bridge, connected by a steep incline. Bus stops are also situated before and after the bridge most days.
